A minissérie do canal FX, «Fargo», surge logo a seguir, com 18 nomeações. A «American Horror Story: Coven» couberam 17 nomeações aos prémios da televisão norte-americana.

A série do Netflix «Orange is the New Black» e o policial do canal HBO «True Detective» estreiam-se nas indicações aos galardões, com nomeações nas categorias de Melhor Série de Comédia e Melhor Série Dramática, respetivamente. «True Detective» viu também os seus protagonistas, Matthew McConaughey e Woody Harrelson, figurarem na lista de nomeados para Melhor Ator numa Série Dramática.

«Homeland - Segurança Nacional», que tem sido uma das favoritas nos últimos anos, não conseguiu chegar à lista de nomeados para Melhor Série Dramática, embora a sua protagonista, Claire Danes, tenha entrado na categoria de representação.

A 66ª edição dos Emmys terá lugar no dia 25 de agosto. A cerimónia será apresentada por Seth Meyers.
